I think it is a bit naive to think that we actually know what is going on with our government. We probably know very little about what is actually going on with our nation, and in some matters I think that is best, however, the media controls most of public opinion.
There is no left and right we are all Americans. If you are a Democrat sit down sometime with a Republican and if you are a Republican sit down sometime and talk to a Democrat, I bet you have more in common than you think you do. I have friends that are in “my” registered political party that my beliefs are nothing like and friends in “the other” party that I’m exactly like. I place more importance on economic issues believing that social issues cannot be worried about if our economy is crashing. Most of my friends place more importance on social issues.
Our country will never be great again until we begin to work together.
It is my personal belief that the government should soley function as an entity which solves disputes between states and with foreign nations. They should not have their hands in heath care, economics, social security, our mail, or deciding who someone can marry. There is no logical reason California, Maine and Ohio should have to follow the same laws, being worlds apart (our states are bigger than many countries in the world) their is no way laws that fit and are completely relevant in California will have the same meaning and affect in Maine, and vice versa. Would you ever expect England and Turkey to be run the same? They are probably closer together than Maine and Southern California.
We are a democratic nation, we’re NOT socialists.
Our nation was founded on principles and the belief that each man has the right to make his own path and choose for himself what is best for him. Today our government has become much more than it was ever intended to be. Our founding fathers saw a nation where a man/woman could make their own path without fear of repercussions, today there are so many rules and regulations limiting our rights what’s next? States are denied funding if they don’t follow the rules of the nation, our state’s right to individually govern ourselves is all but completely gone.
In this political climate I feel this question is begging to be asked, think about it, Do you feel free?
